POM is a semicrystalline thermoplastic and is characterized by a low coefficient of friction and good wear properties, unaffected by wet environments. POM offer good resistance to a wide range of chemicals including many solvents. As water absorption is almost nil, dimensional accuracy and stability is higher than that of Nylons. POM provides high strength and stiffness coupled with easy machine ability. It is very hard therefore not easily transformed, crooked, or dented. Even if under extremely low temperature, it endures high impact, chemical, oil, wear. Therefore fits in application of computer, electronics, and car parts processing.
